Book Awards /Reading Challenge
The Elementary Library runs two book award programs
and one reading challenge each school year.
St.Mary's Book Awards
The St. Mary's Book Award is a Children's Choice award for the best picture book. Students from RP-Grade 3 have the chance to vote for their favorite short-listed book. The award has been running since the 1999-2000 school year.find out more information about SMBA
The Sakura Medal is a library reading program that encourages students to read and enjoy quality literary novels. The program was launched in 2005 in many International Schools throughout Japan. This year at St. Mary's International School, grades 2-5 will be participating in the program. All students who actively participate in the program will be able to vote for the book they think deserves the Sakura Medal.find out more information about Sakura Medal
