Design Competition

All students in Grades 6 through 12 are invited to design a piece of original art to be included in the award diplomas offered to the Sakura Medal winning authors of 2010.

There are two different Sakura Medal categories MS/HS students can enter:

- Middle School Books

- High School Books

St. Mary’s Middle School and High School are invited to send our best five (5) designs for the Middle School Books and the High School Books categories into the interschool competition. The 5 best entries in each category submitted from St. Mary’s will be submitted along with entries from other schools, and students will vote for the best design. The best 5 entries at St. Mary’s Middle School and the best 5 entries at our High School will receive a free copy of the Sakura Medal winning book 2010 from the Library.

Specifications for the design:

· All artwork needs to be A4 size or a little bigger

· Artists are encouraged to include a reading theme or books theme in the artwork

· Artwork may incorporate Japanese imagery or Sakura imagery into the theme

March 12, 2010
